2026 Global Youth AI Study Camp
Planning and Implementation
World Digital Education Alliance , May 11-13, 2026
Held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the camp brought together 27 teams and more than 100 teachers and students from multiple countries and regions around the theme of AI-enabled educational innovation. Following a progressive model of cognition, immersion, co-creation, and presentation, the camp included thematic lectures, 3D modeling and printing, precision engraving, large-model-assisted programming, drone flight control, visits to innovation and research institutions, and final project showcases, helping young participants deepen their understanding of AI technologies, engineering applications, and educational innovation through cross-cultural collaboration.

Since 2020, the Global Smart Education Conference has served as the annual conference of the Global Smart Education Network and as a platform for international exchange and cooperation in smart education. The conference addresses topics such as AI and sustainable development in education, smart education policy, technology, theory, and practice, and includes plenary sessions, parallel forums, high-level dialogues, roundtables, workshops, seminars, and design competitions to support global digital transformation and smart education innovation.

The competition is co-hosted by Beijing Normal University and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, and is one of the annual activities of the World Digital Education Alliance. It invites university students, K-12 teachers, vocational college students, and education professionals worldwide to form interdisciplinary teams and propose innovative solutions to future education challenges around topics such as AI and education, the metaverse and education, rural education, inclusive education, educational neuroscience, and AI and engineering.
